Honestly, I never thought that workout clothes and sportswear would be a core part of my wardrobe. I guess when working out becomes part of your lifestyle the uniform is a bonus. I would workout in the most basic clothes if I had to but when there is so much out there to choose from you might as well play around, find what looks good, what you feel good in and works for you.
The most important thing for me is finding workout clothes that fit well and make me feel confident in myself. Whether you're at home, at the gym or in a class, you are focused on yourself and the incredible thing you're doing for you body. I know I don't want to worry about if my trousers are falling down while on the treadmill, if my sports bra is not supportive enough or if I don't feel comfortable.
Another misconception about buying workout gear is that it's expensive. That is wrong. Yes, there are plenty of high end brands out there but there are also more affordable brands. From H&M, New Look and even Tesco, there are some great bits. Find the essentials, a sports bra, trousers or leggings, a top and trainers. And you're ready to go.
I have put together 3 workout looks for running, yoga and casual wear. You can mix and match what you wear. There's no rules. Wear what you want so that you feel good inside and out.
