It's a New Year

Happy 2013 everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful time when the clock struck midnight and we entered a new year. 2012 was a decent year, first of all we are all still here and the world didn't end. I achieved some personal goals that I set myself at the beginning of last year, I passed my 2nd year of uni with a 2:1 and I gained some work experience in a magazine. I saw my favourite band The Cure live (that was definitely the highlight of my year) as well as Laura Marling and a few other incredible bands. I read beautiful books, the best being The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. My teens ended, not just numerically but my all time favourite tv show One Tree Hill ended and I have been watching it since I was 14! I discovered a lot about myself in 2012, now I am determined to keep going and see what the future holds for me.

This New Year's Eve I went down to the London fireworks to welcome the new year, first stopping for dinner and a toffee nut latte to keep me awake. Then standing on a nearby bridge with a view of the London Eye waiting for midnight. For years I have wanted to go and see the fireworks in London every time I see them on the tv and I have now finally done it. I can't quite explain why but the atmosphere in the crowd was great, people cheering, singing and all together in the city. There is nothing like it. One guy (who was most likely drunk) ran up the middle flat surface of the escalator in the underground and they are very steep and long but despite how dangerous it was he got everyone cheering and smiling. It's the flash mob effect I guess. I definitely want to go again and if you ever get the chance to, I recommend it.

I wish you all the best for 2013 and would like to say thank you to those of you who read, comment and put up with my ramblings. It means the world to me.
