Yesterday was my first day of interning at a magazine. Ever since I can remember remember I have wanted to work for a magazine. When I was around 9 or 10 years old with a few sheets of paper and a pencil I drew the front cover of a magazine, I couldn't tell you what I named the magazine or what was on it but that is the earliest memory I have. It was not until a couple of years ago when I finally realised that it was something I wanted to do and I have my media teacher to thank for that. If his classes were not as interesting and enjoyable as they were who knows what I would be doing now.
Here is my desk where I was going through previous issues and writing up pieces that will possibly go into the next issue. It is an independent magazine with quite a specific audience and is also free so it is a small team in a smallish office area. I'm so grateful that the editor is nothing like Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada because I would have died. Even after one day I'm starting to realise what I want to end up doing for the rest of my life.
